Possessive case (sở hữu cách 's) và prepositions of place (giới từ chỉ vị trí).

Sở hữu cách 's

Dùng 's để nói một người sở hữu vật hay người nào đó.

Dùng 's sau tên riêng: This is Elena's room.
Dùng 's sau danh từ số ít: This is my mum's book.

Giới từ chỉ vị trí

Giới từ chỉ vị trí mô tả người hoặc vật ở đâu.

next to	bên cạnh	The sofa is next to the window.
behind	phía sau	The dog is behind the door.
in front of	phía trước	The bike is in front of the house.

between	ở giữa	The lamp is between the bed and the desk.

Mở rộng

Khi chủ sở hữu là danh từ số nhiều kết thúc bằng s, chỉ thêm dấu phẩy trên: my parents' bedroom. Với danh từ số nhiều bất quy tắc, vẫn thêm 's: children's room.

Mẹo: Tên riêng kết thúc bằng s có thể viết James's hoặc James'. Cả hai đều chấp nhận.

Chú ý: 's sở hữu khác với 's = is: My brother's room (phòng của anh tớ) khác với My brother's tall (anh tớ cao).
